Job Title: M365/Azure Cloud Engineer

Position Details:

  • Remote: East Coast hours, 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM (EST)

  • Contract Duration: 9-Months (06/04/2024 to 03/31/2025​)

  • Potential for travel to Corning NY for training/onboarding.

SCOPE/PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Reporting to the IT Manager of Cybersecurity and Infrastructure, the M365/Azure Cloud Engineer is a senior technology leader that will function as a SME for M365 and Azure. This position will be an enabler across IT Architecture, Engineering, Operations, Security, strategic partners, technology vendors, and project management teams to facilitate the successful delivery of complex Corning initiatives and priorities.

JOB LOCATION: Remote

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Design, implement, and manage solutions within the Azure cloud environment including AVD’s, Identity, and Storage resources.

  • Administer and support the Microsoft 365 suite, including but not limited to Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Intune, and OneDrive for Business.

  • Work closely with IT security teams to implement and maintain security best practices across Azure and Microsoft 365 platforms, ensuring compliance with security standards and policies.

  • This role will function as an operational resource to monitor, repair, and remediate issues not resolved by frontline troubleshooting.

  • Responsibilities will also include collaboration with frontline support teams for training and education to assist with customer issue resolution.

  • Stay abreast of the latest Azure services and technologies and incorporate these into solutions.

  • Practical understanding of network infrastructure including firewalls, routers, and application gateways.

  • Lead the operation, configuration, and monitoring of cloud infrastructure and resources.

  • Configure and manage monitoring, alerting, and reporting of key performance indicators.

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and updates.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Relevant Microsoft Certifications is a plus.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of experience in Windows system administration, with a focus on private cloud and public cloud platforms.

  • 5+ years’ experience in a production IT environment managing enterprise IT infrastructure, hardware, hosting services and cloud infrastructure.

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience in Azure cloud services and Microsoft 365 administration and support.

  • Azure virtual desktop management and support.

  • Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies.

  • Expertise in PowerShell scripting and automation tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong troubleshooting ability – define problem statements, work around, root cause resolution.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • Team player with excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively present information to all levels of the organization.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Manufacturing experience.

  • Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management concepts (IDAM).

  • Experience with Active Directory and GPO’s.

  • Understanding of Microsoft EntraID and conditional access policies.

  • Microsoft Intune and endpoint management.

  • Experience with a GCC High tenant preferred.

Pay Transparency:

  • This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay someone for this position is $50.89/hour - $67.86/hour.

  • Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K (provided minimum eligibility hours are met)

  • Travel Required : 25% or less
