Job Summary:

The Department of Education of West Texas A&M University invites applications for an instructor/data specialist coordinator position. The position will coordinate teacher candidates’ certification examinations including scheduling, communicating, and scoring practice exams. The individual holding this position will analyze and disseminate certification testing data to candidates and faculty. The position will also help manage the Educator Preparation Program (EPP) candidate records. Duties will also include teaching undergraduate courses as needed. Applicants should be service oriented and collaborative with excellent verbal and written communication, and technology skills. This position will be an 11 month position with a possibility of working the twelfth month.

Work Performed:

  • Coordinate all areas of teacher certification examinations including scheduling, communicating, scoring, and reporting the EPP’s testing data.

  • Analyze and disseminate testing data to candidates and faculty.

  • Coordinate and facilitate remediation efforts for candidates who require additional support in preparing for the representative and/or official certification examinations, including keeping records of all testing and remediation action plans.

  • Disaggregate teacher candidate data for reports and databases (ASEP, LBB, CRAFT, TITLE II, and other departmental programs).

  • Assist and collaborate with certification officers by maintaining and creating data spreadsheets.

  • Teach undergraduate courses in face-to-face and/or web-based delivery systems.

  • Website maintenance and updates for the undergraduate educator preparation program.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Master of Education or Master of Related Field Degree.

  • Minimum of two years teaching experience.

  • Hold a classroom teacher certification or one who is eligible for educator certification.

  • Technology skills in the areas of office software, student educational software, student database software, student assistive learning software, and office equipment operation.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and teacher candidates.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • M.Ed. in Educational Psychology, Special Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, Educational Diagnostician, Reading or Literacy, Instructional Design and Technology, or English as a Second Language.

  • Teaching experience in a public school, university, or community college

  • Hold a Texas professional educator certification

  • Ability to coordinate all areas of certification examinations including scheduling, communicating, and scoring practice exams.

  • Ability to assist students in areas of need for certification testing, including connecting students with study materials and test preparation resources.

  • Ability to manage and analyze data.
