THE WORK:
You'll have oversight of the design process and development for data center mechanical systems including HVAC, cooling systems, fire suppression, and plumbing.
You'll provide input on mechanical system designs during project planning and contribute to the preparation of technical documentation and reports.
You'll collaborate with vendors, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure all mechanical work meets project specifications and quality standards.
You'll have oversight of the installation and commissioning of mechanical plant and equipment, controls systems, water treatment systems, HVAC, chillers, CRAC units, cooling towers, etc. and other critical mechanical equipment to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
You'll conduct regular schedule and progress reviews, providing updates and insights to client teams and stakeholders.
You'll provide oversight of the diagnosis and troubleshooting of mechanical system issues during the start up and commissioning process.
You’ll communicate effectively with other team members to ensure alignment and smooth project execution and identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in mechanical systems throughout the construction lifecycle.
You'll oversee the preparation and maintenance of accurate QA/QC/Cx documentation, including test reports, issue logs, and punch lists.
You'll have oversight of the provision of detailed turnover packages for operational teams upon project completion.
You'll ensure all mechanical systems comply with applicable industry codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g., ASTM, ASME, ASHRAE, AISC, etc. ).
You’ll stay updated on the latest industry trends, standards, and technologies related to mechanical systems and share insights and knowledge with team members to promote best practices.
Onsite at client site: The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate our client relationships.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is required. field. OR additional four (4) years of related experience
10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within a data center or critical environment
3+ years of senior level construction management or design management experience

Strong problem-solving abilities to identify issues and propose effective solutions
Good verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and vendors
Ability to effectively lead a diverse team of professionals inside of a dynamic team environment while also being capable of taking initiative when necessary
Ability to travel or relocate to project locations
Strong knowledge of industry standards such as ASHRAE, ISO, and NFPA related to mechanical systems
Experience with system performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and energy efficiency optimization
Experience with or coordination of mechanical design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant software
