Overview

The HRIS Analyst- People Analytics Focus will play a crucial role in analyzing workforce data to provide actionable insights while managing and enhancing our HR Information Systems (HRIS). You will be responsible for combining advanced data analytics with technical HRIS expertise to help streamline processes, improve employee engagement, and inform strategic decision-making. This role requires a deep understanding of HR metrics, data management, and systems optimization, along with the ability to translate data into impactful recommendations.

Responsibilities

The HRIS Analyst- People Analytics Focus will play a crucial role in analyzing workforce data to provide actionable insights while managing and enhancing our HR Information Systems (HRIS). You will be responsible for combining advanced data analytics with technical HRIS expertise to help streamline processes, improve employee engagement, and inform strategic decision-making. This role requires a deep understanding of HR metrics, data management, and systems optimization, along with the ability to translate data into impactful recommendations. Specific responsibilities include:

People Analytics

  • Develop and maintain HR metrics, dashboards, and reports to track key workforce trends (e.g., turnover, retention, diversity, productivity).

  • Perform advanced statistical analysis on employee data to identify patterns, forecast trends, and inform business decisions.

  • Collaborate with HR and business leaders to determine analytics needs and provide data-driven recommendations to address organizational challenges.

  • Present findings in a clear, concise manner to stakeholders across the organization, translating complex data into actionable insights.

  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all reports and dashboards.

HRIS

  • Overseeing and maintaining optimal function of the HRIS, which may include installation, customization, development, maintenance, and upgrade to applications, systems, and modules.

  • Providing technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HRIS users.

  • Collaborating with executive leadership and HR staff to identify system improvements and enhancements; recommendations and implements solutions.

  • Managing permissions, access, personalization, and similar system operations and settings for HRIS users.

  • Compiling or assisting with the acquisition of complex data reports, summaries, and logs for senior executives and HR staff.

  • Serving as lead representative and liaison between HR, information services, external vendors, and other stakeholders for HRIS design and implementation projects.

  • Ensuring system compliance with data security and privacy requirements.

  • Maintaining knowledge of trends and developments in HRIS providers, vendors, and technology.

  • Preparing end-user documentation or training materials as needed

  • Handles complex issues and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.

  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.

  • Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.

  • May act as lead or first-level supervisor

  • Performing other duties as required.

This position is Full Time Exempt, and reports to the HRIS Director.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or related field required.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.

  • Proficiency in HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, SAP, ADP, UKG, iCIMS) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros, etc.).

  • Knowledge of HR compliance, policies, and procedures is a plus.

  • Experience in statistical analysis or data modeling (R, Python, or SPSS) is a plus.

  • At least 4-6 years of related experience required with a highly technical understanding of at least one commercial HRIS product, preferably UKG (Ultimate Software).

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desirable.

  • Performs work under general supervision. Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and technical support skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with human resource policies and procedures to ensure the HRIS meets organizational needs and goals.

  • Ability to keep information confidential.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to work out of both the Baton Rouge and Metairie office each week

  • Further travel may be required on occasion depending on job need and location.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Pay Range

USD $76,100.00 - USD $101,600.00 /Yr.
