Description

The High School Programs Dean, under the direction of the BridgeValley Community and Technical College (BV) Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA), will oversee all aspects of each WIN Academy students’ educational career - from new student enrollment to annual registration (grades 11-12) to college admission - and will direct the necessary resources throughout. The Dean will supervise and lead multiple student-focused areas and ensure each student receives access to a rigorous college preparatory education. The Dean is expected to know the students and to support them in their needs throughout their tenure at WIN Academy. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

Examples of Duties

  • Administrative oversight for WIN Academy

  • Supervises WIN Academy administrative team

  • Supervises the dual enrollment coordinator

  • Ensures that all students receive appropriate educational services such as counseling, tutoring, accessibility and other support services as needed

  • Ensures that WIN Academy meets or exceeds state, federal, WIN Academy and BV educational standards

  • Responsible for providing information and assistance to the WIN Academy Board

  • Oversees administration of school-based testing and assessments such as ACT and SAT.

  • Oversees continued development of the curriculum and registration process

  • Oversees required state reporting through WVEIS

  • Works with the VPAA on any requested areas, including, but not limited to curriculum

  • issues, district and state reporting, and data assessment

  • Meets with faculty and parents regarding students’ academic performance as needed

  • Advises the VPAA on ways to enhance the current systems and maintain school culture as the school grows and advances

  • Works with the VPAA and WIN Academy administrative team to set and meet goals for the betterment of the school

  • Coordinates with the WIN Board and the WV Professional Charter School Board

  • Coordinates and organizes outreach activities for parents/legal guardians

  • Coordinates select events, including graduation

  • Represents WIN Academy at community events and activities

  • Fundraising, including foundation support, grant writing and administration, and philanthropic support for WIN Academy students

  • Responsible for all dual enrollment and related state reporting

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree required

  • Two or more years of experience in school administration, business administration, or equivalent

  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team and to effectively manage others

  • Demonstrated ability to work with adolescents

  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Valid driver’s license
