The first Hotel Indigo launched in Australia, Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets comprises 145 guest rooms, a lively restaurant- Market & Meander, and the iconic rooftop bar- Merrymaker, with panoramic views of Adelaide, we are setting the trend for local dining and cosmic cocktails!
The moment a guest steps into our hotel, they walk into a genuinely memorable experience. As Duty Manager – you are a leader. You will be the person that guests rely on to handle transactions, offer thoughtful neighbourhood insights, and anticipate every detail to make our guests feel right at home and ignite their curiosity.
Reporting to the Rooms Division Manager, you will lead and oversee all aspects of Front Office operations on shift to deliver a unique guest experience that brings the Hotel Indigo brand to life.
A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different at IHG, but you’ll mostly be:
Leading the way – managing guest experiences, monitoring team performance and ensuring smooth operations while on shift
Prioritising workload and ensuring the team deliver authentic, memorable experiences
A neighbourhood host - know what’s happening in the neighbourhood and the hotel; keeping up to date with events, activations and hotel information
Having authentic conversations with guests to resolve issues, queries or concerns
Driving the performance of key metrics, that have a positive impact on guest experiences, problem handling and guest loyalty
Promoting teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments
Flexing your product knowledge of room categories, rates, packages and promotions to demonstrate value to our guests
Conducting routine inspections of the hotel public areas and taking immediate actions to correct any deficiencies
Taking the lead and being the first responder in any critical emergency situations
What we need from you

You will also have some key skills:
Experience in hotel Front Office/Rooms division, with previous leadership experience
Excellent communication, problem solving, reasoning and motivational skills
Working knowledge of hotel property management system Opera is beneficial
Resilience, with the proven ability to manage a crisis
Full drivers licence and the confidence to drive and park cars
It’s a physical role and you’ll be on your feet most of the day, so attention to safe manual handling is a must; including occasional lifting/push/pull of heavy items and you may need to bend and kneel to complete some activities
Flexibility - Available to work a rotating roster; weekends, nights, morning and holidays are all part of the job
Compliance - accredited Responsible Service of Alcohol, Food Safety Certificate, South Australian Responsible Persons Badge and First Aid Certificate are required to perform the role and must be maintained
Must meet the legal requirement to work in Australia without limitations or restrictions
