Job Summary
Eligibility:
Firefighters wishing to take this examination must meet the eligibility criteria as described in the current collective bargaining agreement and/or in accordance with Chapter 143 of the Texas Local Government Code as applicable.
Purpose and Vacancies:
The purpose of this examination is to establish an eligibility list to fill the vacancies as they are approved in the classification of Fire Engineer. The eligibility list will be valid for a period of one year beginning on the first day of the month following the month the written examination was given or until the list has been exhausted.
Registration:
Registration for this examination will take place online beginning on July 4, 2024, at midnight and concluding on July 19, 2024, at 4:30 PM. The registration link will be emailed to all eligible candidates at their city email address from HRPOLICYTEAM@sanantonio.gov.
Time and Place of Written Examination:
A two-hour written examination will be given at 9:00 AM on August 6, 2024, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, 900 East Market, Room 221.
Photo identification will be required
No cell phones, electronic devices, backpacks, books, food or drinks will be permitted inside the exam room
Review of Examination:
The five-day review period will begin August 7, 2024, at 7:45 AM and conclude, August 13, 2024, at 4:30 PM. Information regarding the location of the review will be emailed to all candidates who sit for the exam.
