Where you can make an impact: Finance

Our Finance team plays an essential role in maintaining a healthy balance sheet at AIG. It delivers significant finance support for the overall enterprise, optimizing operations, controllership, funding, and capital structure to honor our stakeholder commitments. The team’s work is invaluable to informing leadership decision making, complying with regulatory requirements, and maintaining financial discipline, transparency, and controls, while providing timely and meaningful information.

How you will create an impact

  • Perform general ledger account analysis, and post accounting journal entries.

  • Prepare and analyze deposit accounts.

  • Review and analyze investment accounts.

  • Provide supporting documentation to the Company's independent auditors.

  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations under responsibility.

  • Prepare and present financial statements, quarterly and annual filing forms.

  • Review GAAP and IFRS financial statements.

  • Prepare, analyze, and reconcile with account receivables and account payable with related third party.

  • Analyze expenses and generate reports.

  • Prepare internal financial reporting packages for the operation’s Parent Company.

  • Provide support to the Finance Department.

  • Interact with various areas within the organization to ensure timely and accurate reporting and disclosures.

  • Perform any other related task required and participate in other projects, as assigned..

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance / Business or a related field of study.

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the insurance or financial industry and with CPA or public accounting experience preferred.

  • A proven track record in preparing statutory reports.

  • Language skills: fluent in English and Spanish (written and verbal)

  • Possess analytical, practical problem solving, strong organizational, teamwork and attention to detail skills.

  • Maintain a positive attitude with the ability to make sound decisions with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to multitask with a variety of systems and processes.

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access.

  • Flexibility to work additional hours during peak times.
