The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Conducts specialized and highly complex analysis of financial data in support of both Strong Memorial and Highland Hospitals in support of Hospital Pharmacy Finance functions. Responsible for providing senior management with the analysis and information they need to make timely operational, financial, and strategic decisions. Conducts specialized and highly complex analysis of financial data in support of the various Pharmacy functions, identifying and researching material variances by working with related entity personnel. Reviews and evaluates accounting policies and procedures for efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conducts specialized financial analysis and research on subjects, such as program income statements, decision support analysis, new programs, new products utilizing all finance and pharmacy related systems including but not limited to Workday, Caretend, TPMS, and Willow. This analysis and research will be utilized by Pharmacy and Hospital Leadership. Manages and reconciles lockbox activities for the ambulatory pharmacy department.
Reviews pharmacy remittances and identifies issues.
Compiles and/or prepares reports, graphs, and charts of data analyzed. Makes presentations on areas of research or analysis. Prepares conclusions and forecasts and makes recommendations based on research. Produces financial statements for pharmacy department operations. Maintains complete financial records, including reconciliations, journal entries, accounts receivable, and financial statement preparation. Monitors cash flows, maintains property ledgers, depreciation schedules, and sales tax preparation as needed. Prepares reports for and communicates with external auditors.
Analyzes and interprets data, statistics, and financial information and identifies significant differences in relationships among sources of information. Assists with variance analysis and explanation. Assess opportunity for cost savings and business improvement in pharmacy utilization data and prepares statements for this purpose. Prepares reports and recommendations based upon analysis of information gathered. Works with other departments including Finance, Compliance, and Office of Counsel.
Assists in the development and/or modification of Pharmacy Finance policies and procedures.
Keeps abreast of trends as they relate to pharmacy compliance and adapts new developments into planning, control, and analytical processes.
As assigned, assumes responsibilities for special projects involving financial, planning, and recommending changes. Assumes responsibility for the project, establishes time tables, activity plans, and coordinates the efforts of any subordinate staff.
Trains new staff and current staff on new applications, policies, processes, and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in finance functional area required.
2 years of related experience required.
Or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Previous Pharmacy experience preferred.
