THE ROLE : The Field Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, servicing, and repairing pump and support equipment in a safe and efficient manner. This includes system troubleshooting, working with mechanical, electrical, diesel equipment, preventative maintenance and parts inventory. You will have direct interface with customers and potentially work at multiple sites with multiple technologies. Xylem will provide paid training for CDL upgrades (if applicable)

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES : To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

· Create and maintain safe working environment and culture within the organization

· Take care of company property

· Able to function in a team environment

· Able to work with direct supervision and independently

· 20%-80% travel depending on division & location (overnight stays, away from home)

QUALIFICATIONS :

· HS diploma or equivalent

· 2 years of technical work experience preferred

· Ability to obtain DOT Medical card

· Clean driving record, capable of obtaining a CDL, class A or B with applicable endorsements

· Electrical, mechanical, diesel, fusion experience depending on business unit

· Experience with Microsoft Office including smart devices

· Previous customer service experience

· Demonstrated critical thinking and troubleshooting ability

· Ability to synthesize technical information and communicate it clearly

· Ability to derive insight from customer experience to produce outcomes and solve moderately complex problems in novel and unexpected ways

DAY IN THE LIFE :

In this role, the working environment may be frequently outdoors, weather extremities, use of PPE, exposures to hazardous material, loud noise, etc. and the physical demands may include but not limited to {regularly sitting, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs. In addition, this role may require frequent travel to customer sites and on-call as a regular part of the job.

SALARY:

Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range. At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.

Salary range:

$37,500.00 - $59,500.00
