THE ROLE: The Mobile Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, service, repair and maintenance of Xylem's Flygt pump, controls and support equipment in a safe and efficient manner either in the shop or at a customer job site. In this role the incumbent will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining an exceptional brand relationship with our customer by acting as a trusted adviser and resource during all onsite and remote support activities. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Install/wire and test new pump test panel for electric (Flygt) pumps.

  • Troubleshoot electrical systems, pump end issues and repair/rebuild as necessary using computerized diagnostic tools.

  • Rebuild pumps, service contracts, complete start up, field trouble shooting and repair, replace/install pumps.

  • Perform inspection of Xylem equipment for possible damage; diagnose damages; report damages to Service Manager.

  • Perform diagnostic checks using computer technology.

  • Maintain a safe work environment by following EHS&S guidelines, policies and best practices.

  • Perform related duties as assigned.

  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities.

  • Customer communication skills.

  • Report and documentation with Service Max.

  • Timeliness, commitment to customer and a driving sense of urgency is requirement.

  • Identify service required and manage site resources to complete the activities in a timely manner.

  • Review specifications, electrical schematics, and job scope of project to have a clear and detailed understanding of the requirements to help with streamline onsite service.

  • Conduct training sessions and presentations in front of a group of customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 3 - 5 years of experience and/or combination of education, training and experience.

  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record.

  • Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.

  • Working knowledge of DC electric and circuit testing skills.

  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools and lifting equipment.

  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; self-motivated and self-directed.

Education and or/Experience:

  • High school diploma of equivalent required. Two-year technical training or equivalent preferred.

  • Three to five years of experience and/or formal training or combination of education and training

  • Three to five years of equipment maintenance experience in wastewater collection or treatment systems

  • DOT Medical card preferred

  • Certified electrician preferred

DAY IN THE LIFE

In this role, the working environment may be frequently outdoors, weather extremities, use of PPE, exposures to hazardous material, loud noise, etc. and the physical demands may include but not limited to {regularly sitting,

standing, lifting up to 50 lbs. In addition, this role may require frequent travel to customer sites and on-call as a regular part of the job.

Standard weekly job hours: 40 hours. Overtime required as needed.

SALARY

The estimated salary range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00 per hour. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range. Salary range:

$45,000.00 - $72,000.00
