Public Buildings Service Facilities Management Officer in United States
Summary As the Facilities Management Officer you will serve as the program manager and division director for the Heartland Region, Public Buildings Service (PBS), Facilities Management Division. The Facilities Management Division provides expertise, process, training, and tools enabling PBS to meet national program requirements for the design, construction, and operation of buildings. We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed. Responsibilities Represents the Regional Commissioner at conferences and has contacts with high-level officials of other government agencies, GSA officials in the region and in Central Office and representatives of local, public, and private groups on matters and concerns pertaining to energy programs, environmental, fire safety, building operations and maintenance/tenant activities. Overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, execution of PBS sustainability plan. Manages several regional programs and activities such as energy and sustainability, environmental, safety, life and fire protection, and building operations and tenant services. Direct the delivery of sustainability plan related projects in the region, including project formulation, procurement, design, construction, and operation. Salary is determined based on the duty station selected (2024 General Schedule Pay Table). To qualify, you must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is managerial, supervisory, or project leadership experience that demonstrates a technical knowledge of the concepts and principles of building design and construction with an emphasis on facilities sustainability. Such experience must demonstrate the application of facilities operations including procurement and funding, property management, asset management, capital investment planning, project management, and customer service/relationship management.
