Entry-Level Substation Civil/Structural Engineer

Job Summary

POWER Engineers is seeking an Entry-Level Substation Civil/Structural Engineer to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Denver office located in Lakewood, Colorado.

Responsibilities

The Entry-Level Substation Civil/Structural Engineer will be involved in all aspects of civil design for substations, including permitting, site work, structural and foundation design, and support of substation physical design and equipment layout. Occasional travel will be required.

Required Education/Experience

  • BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering) degree from an accredited university

  • Must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel

  • Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship

Desired Education/Experience

  • Minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA)

  • Ideal coursework includes structural analysis, concrete design, steel design, soil mechanics, foundation design, and surveying

  • Structural analysis design software experience is a plus

  • Previous engineering design or drafting work experience, especially if related to civil and/or structural engineering, is desirable

  • Engineer In Training certificate (EIT) or passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam

Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000

The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
