Class Summary

This position is in the Stormwater Services Division of the Technical Services Group and is responsible for overseeing the County’s regulatory dams program, which includes inspections, maintenance coordination, capital project identification, and project scoping. The position requires a minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in the inspection, planning, design, and construction of stormwater and dams projects. Familiarity with the Georgia Safe Dams Program is required. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and engineering skills.

The position requires a working knowledge of:

  • Coordinating the request for proposals process to include establishing specifications, evaluating vendors, and making final recommendations

  • Managing projects including defining project budget, performing data analysis, and managing engineering and consultant contracts

  • Methods, practices, and procedures used in dams regulatory compliance

  • Reading and understanding inspection reports and engineering reports and plans

  • Preparing and reviewing scoping reports for dams projects

  • Construction cost estimating

  • Prioritizing work

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

  • Four years of progressively responsible engineering experience

  • Valid Driver's License from state of residency

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required or must be obtained within 18 months of accepting the position.

    This job is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule after an initial probationary period and individual approval.

    The Grade for this position is D61(1).
