Compensation Range:

$18.00 - $23.81

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Provides technical knowledge in obtaining EKG, assisting with cardiac stress testing, and application of wearable cardiac device monitors. Provides direct patient care, patient education and data entry. This is the first step in the career ladder and is intended to be a training role where the individual learns about the duties and responsibilities while working towards a higher level of proficiency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Educates, applies and enrolls patients receiving cardiac wearable monitors. Obtains EKGs. Assists office staff with scheduling procedures and appointments.

  • Maintains professional relationships and communicates with vendors and internal purchasing department. Updates protocols and equipment/supply preference lists for physicians. Works with physicians and nurses in the selection of new inventory. 20%

  • Performs ambulatory technician duties as assigned, including but not limited to, obtaining and documenting vital signs. Provides direct patient care, including but not limited to, positioning, ambulating patient to and from waiting room or bathroom, and wheelchair or stretcher assistance as needed. Selects required equipment and supplies for procedures based on the test and individual patients. Prepares room for procedures. Provides technical assistance to person performing the test with technical requirements of procedure.

  • Assembles tests and ensures correct working order of all supplies and equipment prior to and during procedures. Disassembles, identifies defective or malfunctioning parts, and performs proper cleaning of all equipment in the testing room. Ensures proper cleaning, storage, and inventory of equipment at assigned location.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related medical or customer service experience required

  • Associate's degree in science, biology or related field preferred

  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and computer experience preferred

  • Cardiology background preferred
