Overview

Under the direction of the Senior Director and Vice President of Core Engineering, the Director has a primary responsibility to provide technical assistance, project management, assist with company direction for engineering and profitability. The position will require being the SME for electrical control, electrical safety, industrial programming and facility power. This position may include the supervision of other engineers to direct and mentor. This position will support all facilities companywide including engineering areas that may not fall directly within the job description.

Candidates in the Midwest or East Coast strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

1. Oversight of Company power distribution systems, modifications, and upgrades.

2. Oversight of major equipment control upgrades.

3. Direct and provide leadership to 5 engineers, and resources for driving down total delivered costs. Scope to include identification of opportunities, driving major cost reduction projects, writing multi-plant CARs, transferring best practices, and directing technology resources for timely and efficient equipment engineering & installations.

4. Comply with all EHS policies, and Ensure the safe and effective introduction of new equipment, and process improvement technologies.

5. Develop the equipment strategy for upgrades and recapitalization as defined in conjunction with Senior Manufacturing Management and Corporate Engineering.

6. Provide steering and prioritization with the Business Units and operations to focus resources on high pay back projects. Identify areas for engineering and financial improvement and enable their inception whilst maintaining an appropriate level of availability and reliability of equipment.

7. Prepare and manage engineering budgets, forecasts and plans as assigned.

8. Analyzes technology trends, and maintains a working knowledge of technologies.

9. Confers with manager and senior management to determine engineering feasibility and cost effectiveness of capital projects.

10. Develop leadership level presentations detailing strategy, progress, and financial status. Be a change management advocate for operations and create supporting materials.

11. Keeps current with operating strategies and technologies by attending industry conferences, seminars, etc.

12. Exposure to next level of duties and responsibilities.

13. Complies with SOX audit requirements.

14. Support meeting casefill targets. Scope to include directing asset moves, and resolving major equipment/process problems.

Qualifications

• BS degree required in Engineering EE, EET or ET

• MBA preferred.

• 15+ years of experience.

• Travel 25-50%

• Requires a strong application of complex concepts and their implementation.

• Demonstrates strong management and leadership abilities and motivational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and establish priorities

• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
