It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work onsite for three (3) or more days a week and will have a dedicated workspace when working onsite. Work location is subject to change based on business needs.

Summary of the Job:

Accountable for the management and successful implementation of the audit plans & initiatives in alignment with Business Unit (BU) strategy for Corporate Audit Services (CAS). Lead the identification and development of effective talent, products/services, procedures and/or systems, to meet and or exceed the needs of the key stakeholder, including business unit leaders and the Audit Committee. Interact with peers across the company to identify and collaborate on initiatives to strengthen First National as a financial services provider and as a community partner.

About This Role:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Core Management: Develops a clear vision and strategy for the audit team and executes the audit plan. Has a solid understanding of the business, influences others to create commitment and action, and makes informed decisions.

  • People Management: Ensures the right person is in the right role, communicates clear expectations with measurable outcomes, coaches and develops team, holds individuals accountable, and emphasize positive, proactive relationships.

  • Maintain a talent pipeline for the department through continuing and developing the intern program and Cohort program.

  • Functional Planning & Execution: Accountable to develop and implement plans (1-3 years in scope) in alignment with the department’s strategy for the audit function. Conduct analysis of internal audit best practices and competitive intelligence to facilitate the development of risk-based auditing and increase operational efficiency and enhance the risk management process.

  • Assist in driving the strategic direction of CAS.

  • Identify and evaluate risks within FNN business units and affiliates in developing the annual Audit Plan.

  • Plan and manage audits of FNN business units and affiliates in conformity with department standards.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of internal audit standards, banking laws and regulations, and their impact on CAS and FNN business units and affiliates.

  • Cross Functional Working Relationships (CFWR): Define, assign and ensure adherence to all CFWR for subordinate staff.

  • Build a relationship with FNN audit managers and business unit leaders such that business units and other audit teams will seek counsel on newly identified or anticipated issues.

  • Fiscal Accountability: Accountable for the adherence to allocated budget for assigned department. Ensure topics such as: talent and enhancements to/or development of: technology, products and services are aligned to internal audit’s strategic plan.

  • Compliance: Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties.

  • Complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls, as required.

  • Report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations.

  • Report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

  • If applicable, ensure direct reports meet the above requirements and take action to address employee performance issues.

  • Professionalism/Attendance: Exhibit professional behavior and promote positive working relationships. Maintain regular and predictable attendance in alignment with departmental/divisional policy.

The Ideal Candidate for This Role:

Knowledge, Skills, Education, Experience, and Physical Qualifications (if Required by Work of Role)

  • Required:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting, auditing, finance or banking.

  • Minimum of 5 years of auditing experience (internal/external auditing).

  • Professional Certification: CIA and/or expertise related primary certification:

  • Financial expertise: CPA Professional Certification

  • IT expertise: CISA Professional Certification

  • Strong administrative, oral and written communication skills.

  • Desired:

  • Masters of Business Administration degree.

  • Experience in the banking industry.

Compensation:

Compensation range (base pay): $93,977.00-$159,762.00

Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
