ManTech Data Architect Lead in United States

Currently, we are seeking a motivated, career and team-oriented Data Architect Lead in support of The Department of Defense (DoD). This position is remote.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Create a data strategy that aligns with the overall enterprise architecture and the DoD’s mission and goals

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including military personnel, IT teams, and other departments, to understand their data needs and requirements

  • Develop logical and physical data models that represent the organization’s data assets, including data structures, relationships, and constraints

  • Establish data standards and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across the organization

  • Oversee the integration of data from various sources, including operational systems, databases, and external sources

  • Implement data governance policies to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance with DoD regulations and standards

  • Evaluate and recommend data management tools and technologies that best meet the project’s requirements

  • Work with technology vendors and service providers to ensure that solutions are implemented effectively and meet the project’s needs

  • Develop and enforce data quality standards and processes to maintain the integrity and reliability of data

  • Ensure data security measures comply with DoD security policies and regulations, including classification and access controls

  • Create and manage project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation

  • Lead a team of data architects and analysts, providing guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to data architecture and integration

  • Develop comprehensive documentation for data models, architecture designs, and integration processes

  • Provide regular updates to senior management and other stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and outcomes

  • Ensure that the data architecture complies with relevant DoD regulations and standards

  • Assist in audits and assessments related to data management and architecture

  • Identify opportunities for improving data architecture processes and practices

  • Provide training and support to other team members and end-users on data management practices and tools

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of experience in data architecture or related roles, including experience with data modeling, database design, and data integration Proficiency in data modeling, database design, data warehousing, and ETL processes

  • Proficiency in creating and understanding data models (e.g., ER diagrams, dimensional models)

  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) and non-relational databases (e.g., NoSQL, MongoDB)

  • Knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools and data integration platforms

  • Familiarity with DoD data standards, regulations, and security requirements

  • Experience in project management methodologies and tools

  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams, providing direction and support

  • Experience in large-scale, multi-phase programs or projects, preferably within DoD

  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing data-related projects

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data science or related technical degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in large-scale, multi-phase programs or projects, preferably at enterprise level

  • Active certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or similar

  • Active project management certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar

  • Experience in a DoD or government environment is highly advantageous

  • Master’s degree in computer science, information systems, data management or related technical degree

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • US citizenship with current/active Secret clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

The projected compensation range for this position is $111,400-$185,700. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
