FEV North America, Inc Controls and Software Engineer for Engine and Hybrid Powertrain in United States

FEV is seeking a highly motivated entry level engineer in the field of Rapid Prototyping (RP) controls and software development for engine and hybrid/electric vehicle control systems.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop RP controls software for vehicle propulsion systems

  • Configure RP controls hardware for vehicle propulsion systems

  • Perform MiL, SiL, HiL testing to verify and validate the control strategy and functions

  • Support engine dyno testing and vehicle testing

  • Ensure customer satisfaction by conducting projects with a high level of professionalism while meeting and/or exceeding technical and timing expectations

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/ Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering or related field

  • Good controls software development background with MATLAB/Simulink

  • Ability to understand electrical schematics and drawings

  • Understanding of electronic control system, sensors and actuators

  • Understanding of engine and hybrid/electric vehicle powertrain system

  • Must be a motivated team player to perform in fast paced development environment

  • Good communicator (oral and written), organized, and mindful of time management

  • Must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical/ Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering or related field

  • Experience with real-time embedded control software development including C Programming

  • Hands-on experience with RP control hardware such as that from dSPACE, Pi Innovo and/or ETAS

  • Good knowledge of CAN communication protocol

  • Knowledge of real-time control design methods and strategy development

  • Good knowledge of electronic control system, sensors and actuators in the electric powertrain
