Xcelerate Solutions Configuration Management Specialist in United States

Come join our award-winning organization and work with the most talented and brightest minds in the GovCon industry. As a Configuration Management Specialist, you will be responsible for establishing and/or maintaining a system to record modifications to hardware, software, or documentation.

Location: Remote with periodic meetings in Fort Belvoir, VA.

    Responsibilities

  • Maintains allocated, functional, and physical baseline control and ability to perform audit support. Assists with the review of engineering change requests to assess impact upon configuration baseline and logistics support elements. Maintains configuration control records and technical documents. Works closely with quality assurance and management representatives to ensure accurate and well-documented product baseline.

  • Recommend design and upon COR approval, develop, document, test, tune, configure, customize, setup, deploy/implement, and sustain all new software, applications, changes, and enhancements.

  • Designs will be made so that they can be integrated into designed system baselines as seamlessly as possible.

  • Provide support in gathering functional, technical, and interface requirements and ensure all requirement changes are included in final design documentation.

  • Track and perform all activities in compliance with DLA Enterprise CM and IT Governance processes, procedures, and Configuration Control Working Group (CCWG) framework.

  • Provide change management consultation to ensure control and record-keeping is maintained of transitions in infrastructure, organization, responsibilities, and products.

  • Coordinate CM inputs with IPTs and explain any deviations between expectations to actual capabilities delivered.

  • Conduct Quality Assurance support for all assigned CM activities.

  • Provide CM support for integration and testing activities.

  • Update CM databases and generate management reports and metrics.

  • Support the creation and maintenance of program CCWG charters and CM related procedures.

  • Provide support in capturing, defining, and maintaining control of customer functional and technical requirements.

  • Conduct modifications and enhancement adjustments to system software and utilities following changes to architectural standards.

  • Recommend design and upon COR approval, develop, document, test, and deploy data conversions.

  • As necessary, the contractor must provide a data conversion plan documenting the strategy, conversion sources systems, source data layout, business rules requirements, mapping requirements, security requirements (if applicable), data scrubbing / editing/ cleansing, and reporting requirements for each project / instance.

  • Perform and support program information, system program reviews, system design reviews, system audits and system tests as required.

  • Provide release management support for all changes and maintain software release matrices.

  • Coordinate and provide support for data encryption efforts.

  • Provide configuration management and change management support related to integration, technology refresh, and testing activities.

  • Perform configuration changes on all infrastructure to ensure that components are compliant with DISA Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Federal IA policies/regulations, DOD IA policies, internal DLA IA protocols, and all JTF-GNO directives.

  • Ensure compliance with application regulatory change reviews.

  • Perform additional configuration support services as identified within the scope of services for the Task Order.

    Requirements:

  • Experience establishing and/or maintaining a system to record modification to hardware, software, or documentation.

  • Experience maintaining allocated, functional, and physical baseline control.

  • Five (5) years of experience in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems/Technology).

  • Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.

  • Position Sensitivity: Non-Critical Sensitive (Formerly IT-II or IT-2)

  • Investigation Requirements: Must possess a favorable Tier 3 (T3) NACLC/ANACI
