Job Title: Clinical Nursing Supervisor (RN)

Job Summary:

The Clinical Nursing Supervisor – RN, is responsible for the nursing care of patients in a designated unit on a designated shift. Works independently within a broad scope of established hospital and departmental policies and goals in rendering physical and supportive care and health teaching to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Safely manages the environment of care while providing services. Interacts appropriately with staff, physicians, and other departments in collaborative relationships to meet the needs of patient/families. Supervises and delegates appropriately to other licensed and non-licensed staff members in providing care to patients/families. Assists the Nursing Director in the overall management of nursing personnel, patient care unit, and the educational environment of the patient care unit. Actively and consistently contributes to department operations and communications, behaves in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Pipeline Health, upholding standards of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank you) patient communication.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • At least three (3) years Critical Care Experience or in an acute care setting.

  • Demonstrate behaviors commensurate with the vision, mission, values, and behavioral standards of the organization.

  • Serve as a role model for the mission, vision, and values of the organization and fulfill other job duties as requested within the scope of practice.

  • Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, strong organizational skills, ability to follow verbal instructions, and PC (computer) skills.

  • A capacity to learn, synthesize, make critical judgments, work independently, place patients and families first, and collaborate with the team members who are recognized leaders within health care.

Licensure/Certifications:

  • Current RN license issued and/or recognized by the State Board of Nursing for the State of employment.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association (AHA), required.

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from American Heart Association (AHA), required.

  • National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) from the American Heart Association (AHA), required.

  • AB508 Workplace Violence Prevention (4 hour) due within 30 days.

  • OR Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB 1 or MAB 2), Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or other certification covering AB508 and SB1299.
