Magellan Health Services Child Clinical Psychologist, Government Intelligence Customer - Washington DC/Metro Area in United States

This position is contingent on a contract award.

This position requires a Top Secret SCI polygraph clearance.

Provides psychological assessment and evaluations to patients within discipline scope of practice, and performs functions in accordance with current accepted practice, licensure, certification, credentialing and or granted privileges. Conducts diagnostic interviews and therapy sessions using evidence-based and brief therapeutic models. May be expected to respond to and/or coordinate response to medical emergencies. This position will also interpret psychological tests and conduct interviews to assess the psychological and social suitability of federal employees to deploy or be assigned to targeted assignments. After conducting an assessment, may provide short term counseling and make appropriate referrals to long-term counseling, treatment, and community resources.

  • Conduct diagnostic interviews and therapy sessions using evidence-based and brief therapeutic models.

  • Provide support for children and families and maintains current awareness of developments in relevant fields.

  • Provide psychological briefings, program development tasks and training and development and implementation for group therapy and workshops.

  • Maintain complete, accurate, and current records of all clinical services rendered, includes initial evaluations, progress notes, summary notes and all other necessary documentation.

  • Reviews clinical cases with clinical management teams and such other similar services as may be requested.

  • Reviews medical records, placement documentation, treatment plans and progress notes.

  • Completes clinical interviews with child/adolescent via telehealth.

  • Completes Child and Adolescent Strengths and Needs (CANS) assessment.

  • Completes a summary of findings report pursuant to F.S. 39.407 while addressing the following: 1.) The child appears to have an emotional disturbance serious enough to require residential treatment and is reasonably likely to benefit from treatment. 2.) The child has been provided with a clinically appropriate explanation of the nature and purpose of the treatment. 3.) All available treatment options less restrictive than residential treatment have been considered and a less restrictive alternative that would offer comparable benefits to the child is unavailable.

  • All other duties as assigned.

    Other Job Requirements

Responsibilities

Masters degree in Clinical Psychology or related field with 8+ years of clinical experience OR Doctorate with 5+ years of clinical experience.

Must have licensure to work at an independent level. A current valid unrestricted counseling license/certification from one of the 50 U.S. states or D.C. that grants the authority to provide counseling services as an independent practitioner in their respective fields is required.

Experience conducting assessments and clinical interviews to include documenting clinical findings.

Ability to diagnose psychological disorders and provide evidence-based psychotherapy.

Strong clinical abilities, detail oriented, and enthusiasm for a collaborative approach to treatment.

Excellent verbal and communication skills.

Top Secret with SCI polygraph clearance OR candidates that are willing to go through the process of obtaining the clearance may be considered.

Salary Minimum:

$83,890

Salary Maximum:

$142,610

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
