The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies is looking for a Business Analyst with a background in the Military Healthcare System, to support our government customer in San Antonio, Texas or Falls Church, Virginia or Remote.

The s uccessful candidates will have knowledge of the Military Healthcare data marts, and experience developing healthcare delivery reports analyzing healthcare operations at both the headquarters and military treatment facility levels.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.

  • Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies.

  • Staying up-to-date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems.

  • Conducting meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.

  • Performing requirements analysis.

  • Documenting and communicating the results of your efforts.

  • Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.

  • Gathering critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and producing useful reports.

  • Working closely with clients, technicians, and managerial staff.

  • Providing leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to junior staff.

  • Document reporting and alert testing requirements based upon technical team’s specifications.

  • Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements.

  • Perform Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing.

  • Report on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations to product team.

  • Conduct meetings, communicate key insights and findings to product team.

  • Managing projects, developing project plans, and monitoring performance.

  • Updating, implementing, and maintaining procedures.

  • Develop technical documentation.

  • Prioritizing initiatives based on business needs and requirements.

  • Serving as a liaison between stakeholders and users.

  • Managing competing resources and priorities.

  • Monitoring deliverables and ensuring timely completion of projects.

  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

    REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

    Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Computer Application or related areas.

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working as a Business Analyst on a technical development team.

  • Able to read, write, speak and understand English.

  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to translate data into actionable insights.

  • Excellent documentation skills; experience in development of product support documentation.

  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.

  • Ability to critically examine and evaluate, problem-solve, and conceptual thinking skills.

  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.

  • Proven experience in eliciting requirements and testing.

  • Ability to deliver products on time, on schedule, within budget. Flexibility and ability to adapt to rapidly changing and often time-constrained environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks with multiple deadlines simultaneously (Multitask).

  • Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • A track record of following through on commitments.

  • Strong customer service orientation.

    DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working in the Military Healthcare System.

  • Technical skills in one or more of the following: SQL, Python, R, SAS, Tableau/Tableau Creator and Application/Dashboard Development.

  • Project management experience.

  • Experience working with JIRA or other project management programs.

  • Highly self-motivated and directed.

  • Knowledge and experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • Prior experience developing databases and understanding of data modeling concepts.

  • Experience developing, testing, and maintaining Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes.

  • Experience in workflow development and documentation of workflow processes.

  • Experience in data visualization/information architecture.

  • Experience in Technical Writing.

    REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

  • US Citizenship Required

  • Active Secret Clearance or Tier III background check
