Position Summary

The primary focus for the Associate Product Manager position is to achieve or exceed revenue and profitability objectives for the assigned product or category. The position is a mixture of downstream and upstream marketing with balanced focus on new product development and initiatives centered on marketing & sales strategies and execution. The position works closely with their direct manager, success in this role will be achieved through effective implementation in the following areas:

Duties

Marketing Strategy Development, Execution & Program Management

  • Work closely with the commercial team and direct manager to increase product penetration/win rate through the development of tools and programs that provide a seamless approach to selling value.

  • With the support of direct manager, collaboratively identify issues, opportunities and associated strategies within assigned procedural / product areas through frequent conversations and interactions with Customers, sales leadership and account managers.

  • With support, drive, develop and deliver content used in sales meetings & training, national & regional conferences, events and webinars.

  • Communicate with field representatives to assure awareness of product changes, pricing changes, new sales tools, corrective measures, etc.

    Product or Category Leadership & Team Building

  • With the assistance of direct manager, create and support short and long-term product/ procedural space planning process within assigned areas to achieve corporate goals.

  • Establish the ability to win mind share with internal cross functional team members through a collaborative approach to identifying solutions based on data, building excitement and consensus specific to assigned product/procedural area to drive projects forward

Procedural & Product Planning

  • With guidance and support from direct manager, collaborate with NA sales and marketing leadership on the development/execution of Plans of Action (POAs) and new product launches including:

  • forecasting and financial planning/business case development

  • market potential/opportunity and target share by product line

  • needs based Customer segmentation

  • value proposition creation

  • competitive analysis

  • reimbursement & GPO / IDN trends

  • understanding of market pricing by product line

  • key issues and trends

  • strategies to support sales execution

  • product life cycle planning

  • product training

  • Identify Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Key Accounts (KAs) in the medical community –often related to product areas of focus.

  • Gain a general understanding of the competitive product marketplace.

  • Keep informed on current market trends and sales analysis to sharpen ability to plan, review, adjust and approve product/procedural plans, including the identification of future product development opportunities.

  • Working closely with direct manager, understand approach to pricing strategy stewardship within assigned product categories.

    Market Research & New Product Development

  • Provide leadership in all phases of the Stage Gate process making sure to leverage direct manager.

  • Provide commercial and clinical Voice of Customer supporting recommendations for NPD based on qualitative and quantitative research.

  • With guidance from direct manager, support cross-functional new product development teams with market objectives when completing documentation (i.e. PRD, IOS, Labeling, etc.), feasibility testing, and risk analysis for new products and line extensions.

  • Using Clinical support and direct manager as mentors, participate in product testing with Customers to determine if product meets market needs.

  • Participate in planning and preparation for new product launches including forecasting, sales collateral, equipment evaluation requirements, pricing guidelines, and product training.

  • Review industry publications and practices to ensure products meet Customer needs and industry guidelines.

Education Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience

  • BA or BS degree in Marketing, Communications, Technical or a related field

  • 3+ years of relevant business experience

  • 1-2+ years of experience in Marketing (medical product marketing experience preferred)

    Pay range for this opportunity is $78,500.00 - $109,987.50. This position is eligible for [BONUS PARTICIPATION] OR a [INSERT COMMISSION RATE RANGE, IF APPLICABLE] commission.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.

Employees are covered by an employee assistance program (also available to household members) and long-term disability. Full-Time Employees are also eligible for short-term disability. Full-time Employees will also receive Paid Time Off (PTO) based on years of service and paid Holidays. Part-time employees working 20 or more hours receive a pro-ration of the full-time PTO allocation and paid Holidays based on their standard hourly work week. Full-Time employees are eligible for four weeks of paid parental leave. Part-time employees also receive paid parental leave, pro-rated based on their standard hourly work week.
