Assistant Environmental Project Manager

POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in the U.S. West Region to assist with environmental siting, permitting, and compliance for large energy-related projects in Nevada, Idaho, California, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico.

This position offers a remote workstyle from Las Vegas, NV, or Reno, NV area. The selected candidate will travel to a POWER office for periodic meetings. POWER is open to discussing remote work situations for the right candidate.

Roles and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Coordinating project teamwork and deliverables

  • Overseeing and writing planning documents

  • Monitoring schedule and budget

  • Interfacing with internal Project Managers, Project Staff, and clients

  • Supporting business development activities

Required Education/Experience

  • BS degree in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related degree

  • U.S. Western expertise in siting/routing, environmental planning and analysis, state and NEPA compliance, public involvement, technical writing in one or more of the following areas:

  • Electric transmission lines and substations

  • Power generation facilities

  • Gas pipelines

  • Knowledge and demonstrated expertise in federal and state environmental policy and regulation is required. Preferably, but not limited to, these states: NV, ID, CA, UT, AZ, NM

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, defining and understanding client requirements, managing expectations, communicating with clients and project staff

Desired Education/Experience

  • Five (5)+ years’ experience contributing to and supporting environmental siting/routing and permitting projects, preferably linear projects

  • Preferably expertise and understanding of permitting requirements in NV, ID , CA, UT, AZ, NM

  • Experience with the construction of transmission lines is a plus

  • Proposal writing and presentation skills a plus

Base Salary Range: $80,000K-$105,000K

The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
