What we want

The Project Coordinator I will oversee assessment activity and reporting within the Department of Recreational Sports. This position will help with assessment design and implementation, including surveys and focus groups, as well as analysis and reporting. This position also oversees the departmental asset management process, including yearly inventory and surplus. This position will serve on multiple committees, including leading the departmental assessment committee, serving as a representative on the Division of Student Affairs assessment committee, and serving as a departmental liaison to Technology Services. The mission of the Department of Recreational Sports is to promote activity, wellness, and development by providing high quality, comprehensive experiences and facilities for the students and community of Texas A&M University.

Responsibilities

Assessment:

Responsible for the overall planning and coordination of activities required for departmental, division, and campus-wide assessment efforts. Oversees departmental compliance with accreditation requirements by coordinating departmental and program level assessment plans in support of external accountability and internal improvement efforts using AEFIS software. Works with internal stakeholders to determine assessment needs and the most effective assessment method/instrument needed to gather information and achieve project goals. Supports student employment initiatives by promoting, implementing, and assessing High Impact Practices and Student Learning Outcomes and other data collection focused on recruitment and retention efforts. Develops meaningful analytic conclusions and recommends solutions related to information collected.

Reporting:

Serves as a central location for all external survey responses and information requests. Disseminates departmental information to appropriate stakeholders, including department staff and the Division of Student Affairs. Develops periodic reports as needed. Works with Marketing & Communications to ensure that information for annual reports is accurate. Prepares weekly participation and quarterly compliance reports. Creates departmental reports for the Division of Student Affairs, President's Office, and Board of Regents as required.

Asset Management:

Conducts annual inventory of all departmental assets, which require university asset numbers. Conducts the annual chemical inventory as required by the University.

Committees:

Serves as departmental liaison to Technology Resources and consult on information technology issues. Represents the department on multiple departmental and division committees, including serving on the Division of Student Affairs assessment team and chairing the departmental assessment committee. Other committee assignments and designated.

Departmental Mission Duties:

Serve on national, university, divisional, and departmental committees as needed. Assist in establishing long and short-term goals of the department. Attend local, state, and national workshops and conferences, host and present at various workshops. Maintain positive relationships within departments, other university departments, community, and vendors. Assist other university staff members as requested. Interact with students, faculty, and staff for the benefit of carrying out the mission of the department.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.

Two years of related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a related field.

Five years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Highly effective written and verbal communication skills in the English language.

Strong teaching/presentation skills.

Knowledge of industry best practices.

Proficiency in basic computer skills.
