Join our team within the Services division of Burnaby, BC, Canada as a Retrofits Application Specialist. The ideal candidate will work onsite as a member of the Parts Processing Centre.
In this role, activities will include but not be limited to:
Collaborate with the Retrofit Specialist (RS) and Key Account Manager (KAM) to review project requirements and define bid strategies.
Prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals that align with customer requirements and the Company's commercial guidelines, ensuring proper approvals.
Source quotes from sub-vendors for mechanical seals, motors, instruments, and other necessary equipment or services.
Perform application engineering tasks to develop complete proposals, engaging service centers, manufacturing units, sub-vendors, and relevant Company entities.
Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to deliver cost-effective and competitive solutions aligned with the Company's financial goals.
Leverage the Company's global portfolio to optimize costs and maximize project award success.
Support cross-regional project requirements and collaborations.
Conduct lost bid analyses for issued proposals to drive improvement.
Promote and support Company initiatives focused on safety, environmental protection, and continuous improvement.
Facilitate seamless handovers of proposals and orders to the Order Processing team.
To shine in this role:
Work Experience: Over 7 years of experience in Sales, Tendering, Applications, or Mechanical / Hydraulic Engineering.
Expertise: Proven skills in tendering, application engineering, and project management.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required). Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred).
Languages: Fluency in English (required). Spanish or Portuguese (beneficial).
Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, Skilled in negotiation and influencing outcomes, Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
Other Qualifications: Established industry and supplier networks; Familiarity with competitors' offerings and market trends; Cultural awareness and understanding of regional dynamics; Some experience in equipment manufacturing an asset; Mechanical Technologist certificate, or related post-secondary education, anasset; Proficiency in SAP application an asset; Independently plan and prioritize own work activities; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Position: Junior Designer
Currently, we have an immediate opening for a Junior Designer at our Burnaby facility. As a member of our Engineering Department you will assist, at a junior level, in the design and order processing of centrifugal pumps, components and equipment; prepare design layouts; interpret design requirements; perform calculations; create and modify drawings; create Bills of Materials (BOM) and create other engineering related documentation in accordance with customer specifications and company policies.
How You Will Contribute:
Prepare engineering drawings using CAD programs (Inventor, AutoCAD & Medusa) to enable the complete manufacturing of pump products.
Provide engineering drawing control using product lifecycle management software (PTC Windchill)
Prepare Bills of Materials within the ERP system (SAP)
May contact suppliers and other departments with respect to the coordination of design work and clarification of requirements.
May work from more detailed design requirements laid down by others in the form of notes, layouts and verbal instruction.
May perform stress analysis involving advanced mathematics.
May assign and check the work of others.
May prepare design reports or notes.
Handle special engineering tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Support, cooperate with, and participate in company-wide EHS Management System which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Design Technology, including such courses as mechanical design, hydraulics, computer-aided drafting (2D/3D), etc.
One to two years of experience in designing and manufacturing techniques in applicable product design to attain sufficient engineering background.
SAP and PTC Windchill experience is an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
