Responsible for overseeing the company’s vehicle fleet operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance. Manages vehicle acquisition, maintenance, utilization, and disposal while optimizing costs and ensuring that the fleet supports the company’s operational goals. Develops strategies to improve overall fleet performance and sustainability.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
• Oversees all maintenance operations, ensures maintenance personnel adhere to established policies for inspection, maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment in addition to ensuring all company policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreement (as applicable) are followed.
• Recommends vehicle purchases, based on projected needs and attrition, and provide guidance on required specifications and equipment.
• Authorizes and makes arrangements for procurement of parts, supplies, tools and machinery.
• Administers periodic inspection and audit of company vehicles, equipment and facilities to ensure safe, efficient, effective and compliant maintenance operations.
• Identifies potential safety hazards and takes appropriate action to ensure personnel safety.
• Investigates and evaluates cause, extent and financial impacts of damage to equipment due to failures and vehicles involved in accidents.
• Oversees vehicle registrations, inspections, and renewals to maintain compliance.
• Ensures compliance with safety standards, regulations, and company policies, including driver training, certifications, emissions standards, and licensing requirements.
• Maintains accurate records for audits and inspections, including maintenance logs, insurance documents, and vehicle registrations.
• Negotiates contracts with vehicle suppliers, fuel providers, and maintenance service providers.
• Ensures that all fleet assets are maintained in optimal working conditions through routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Manages relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs.
• Maintains detailed records of maintenance, service history, and repairs for audit and compliance purposes.
• Develops KPI’s to analyze and track maintenance compliance and trends.
• Creates maintenance history analysis to ensure fleet is retired at the optimal time.

Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.
Work Environment
Hybrid or Remote Opportunities Available Based on Location. Eligible candidates residing in the greater Atlanta area will be asked to work 2x a week in our new Headquarters.
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally, 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in analyzing data in regard to process, procedure and compliance required
Experience in fleet management or a similar role and fleet management software is a plus.
Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations that govern maintenance operations related to job site safety protocols and potential job hazards preferred
Experience in the administration of comprehensive fleet and equipment preventative maintenance programs preferred
salary 71,800.00 - 115,700.00 USD Annual - DOE
