Job Description
Reports to the Associate Vice President and Dean of Students, supporting the administrative, student advocacy, and case management responsibilities in the Dean of Students Office. Manages day-to-day operations of the Dean of Students Office and provides support for staff. Additionally, provides administrative case management support for the Dean of Students Office to include, but not limited to: provide referrals and walk-in assistance; student case follow up; data management; and preparation of reports as needed.
Salary: $40,000 - 42,000 plus benefits
Responsibilities:
Coordinates administrative support functions for the Dean of Students Office.
Coordinates the schedule of the AVP/DOS.
Prepares and reviews operational and special reports.
Coordinates office records retention and maintains office references and resources materials.
Assists in the development of, and tracking of, office operations budget.
Coordinates travel arrangements and prepares itineraries.
Plans and coordinates meetings, seminars, and special events.
Coordinates the maintenance of office supplies and equipment.
Reviews documents for supervisor.
Work closely with staff in the areas of Cisneros Institute for Emerging Leaders, Disability Support Services, Student Counseling Center, Student Rights and Responsibilities, and Student Housing.
Provides administrative activities and services to serve as a student advocate (e.g. provide resources, guidance, etc.).
Analyzes program, project, or initiatives.
Performs special analyses and project summaries.
Monitors project timelines and identifies any potential issues.
Adapts, combines, and makes improvements to services, processes, or programs.
Participates in the planning and execution of administrative operations.
Formulates, interprets, and/or implements management policies or operating practices.
Develops administrative and technical procedures.
Researches, interprets, compiles, and responds to inquiries about rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Makes recommendations for process improvements, administrative changes, or new initiatives.
Supervises, trains, and evaluates work student employees.
Other duties as required.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of related experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Supervisory experience.
Higher education experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Interpersonal and communication skills.
Planning and organization skills.
