Job Description

Texas A&M University – San Antonio (TAMU-SA) seeks a dynamic leader for the position of Adjunct Professor of Superintendent Studies. This is a part-time adjunct position. This position reports to the Chair of the Department of Educator and Leadership Preparation.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach up to 6 credit hours (up to 2 courses) within the required discipline per semester. Instruction may be delivered on-campus, off-campus, or online and may be during the day and/or evening

  • Develop and manage the class syllabus and ensure that the syllabus meets department and college standards

  • Plan and create lectures, in class discussions, and assignments

  • Assess grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations

  • Assist/mentor students as needed

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

  • Earned doctoral degree from an accredited institution of higher education in the field of education or a closely related discipline

  • Current and Valid Superintendent Certification through the Texas Education Agency

  • Experience as a Superintendent

  • Experience teaching Superintendency graduate or post-graduate courses at the University level

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience working with schools in the Bexar County area

  • Experience fostering partnerships between Local Education Agencies and Institutions of Higher Education
