Dow Thailand Group is looking forImprovement Engineer, to work at Map Ta Phut, Rayong. The improvement engineer leads the plant level improvement process by gathering and analyzing data, evaluating improvement opportunities, and implementing improvement projects. Be assures plant level improvements align with the Plant Specific Technology Plan, thereby closing local performance gaps and increasing Asset Capability (AC). Also provides plant level improvement project support, which may include fulfilling roles in the global project execution work process (ex. Global Project Methodology (GPM), Six Sigma, etc.). This role will facilitate implementing all corporate and business process safety requirements to ensure that gaps are closed within committed timeline.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Production Leader in identifying key measures using plant performance data analysis.

  • Coaching plant personnel on measurements and daily updates of technology performance/ asset utilization data.

  • Identifying plant improvements that are aligned to the Global and Plant Specific Technology Plan objectives.

  • Championing Plant Improvement Team and assures proper set-up and use of global opportunity identification tools (Opportunity Tracking System, Idea Tracker, etc.).

  • Validating improvement opportunities using global tools and assists in building the Plant Specific Technology Plan.

  • Providing technical plant support in specialized areas including process simulation, modeling, risk analysis, and process optimization.

  • Assisting in managing Asset Utilization and project budgets.

  • Possesses in-depth process technology and continuous improvement skill sets helping to establish credibility with the operations team.

  • Drives knowledge exchange with technology experts to increase awareness of potential improvement opportunities for the technology.

  • Partners with Dow experts to develop and implement a Plant Specific Technology Plan that delivers positive year-over-year ROC (return on capital) and non-capital continuous improvement while meeting the plant level EH&S improvement goals.

Qualification:

  • 0-3 years of work experience with bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Chemical technology or related field.

  • Good command of spoken and written English, equivalent to TOEIC score of 700 or higher

  • Native Thai speaking

  • Good computer skills (MS Office Applications)

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills are essential

  • Ambitious, self-motivated, well-organized and enthusiastic

  • Strong team-player, and able to work independently
