AIG Trade Credit Underwriting Manager in Singapore

AIG Underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, and Multinational Clients. How you will create an impact

  • The role is to service and expand Trade Credit Asia Pacific’s line of business which includes underwriting renewal and new business submissions across the region, and in particular focusing on Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and Australian markets.

  • The role will include analyzing the risk based on submissions provided by intermediaries and provide quotations for the purpose of binding the risk eventually.

  • Ensure underwriting excellence of each assigned account. This will include adherence to the underwriting procedure, review of manuscript wording, underwriting report, and following up update of risk recommendation.

  • Underwriting new and renewal insurance submissions and negotiating policy terms and conditions.

  • Maintaining and developing good working relationships with clients, producers and service providers.

  • Seek / Chase for pipeline / execute strategies.

  • Engage in Broker / Client meetings as often as possible to ensure local market presence

  • Meeting operating and audit guidelines

  • Support the regional leadership with reporting data timely and accurately

  • Provide support to new joiners

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Education background in finance or accounting.

  • Strong knowledge in financial/credit analysis and interpretation of financial statements.

  • Good experience in the trade credit space or related experience in the banking and finance industry.

  • Experience in account management, dealing with senior stakeholders (CFOs, Credit Controller, Risk Managers, etc.).

  • Independent, able to multi-task and possess initiative to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to travel to meet business requirements.

  • Capabilities to comprehend financial statements and other business information in English and another regional language.
