Job Description

The opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to drive the transformation of our data strategy and governance. The ideal candidate will champion the development of data assets, lead the implementation of data engineering solutions, and build and mentor a high-performing team to deliver game-changing data products and solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate with global and regional teams to scale the data technology stack and ensure data is at the forefront of platform changes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver the refresh of overall data strategy in collaboration with regional and global teams

  • Establish and chair data governance council / processes, and data ownership structure including the prioritization of remediation activities required for data quality enhancements.

  • Lead the data capture / ingestion and curation capability to enable continuous enhancements of data assets across the organisation.

  • Collaborate with regional and global teams to scale the data technology stack to best support the priorities of company strategy.

  • Lead the design, architecture and implementation of data engineering solutions for Advanced Analytics, scalable insights and digital applications.

  • Hire, train and coach a strong team of data professionals to realize their full potential in the service of creating game changing data products and solutions.

  • Partner with the CIO to create and deliver a compelling data vision & data driven strategy for the organisation

  • Partner with technology and business teams to ensure data is at the fore front of any platform changes in the form of data capture, curation and insight consumption.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor of Engineering in IT, Computer Science or related course.

  • Technical knowledge in data engineering and software development of large-scale applications.

  • Preferably with experience in the Financial Industry.

  • Extensive knowledge with many of the following technologies: SQL, Oracle RDBMS, MS Synapse, MS ADLS, MS Data Factory, MS Cosmos DB, DataBricks.

  • Familiarity with some of the following technologies: HDFS, Hadoop, Hive, HBASE Python, Spark, PowerBI, Confluence, JIRA, Splunk, Kibana, KAFKA.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and a strong ability to recognize critical path deliverables in order to deliver within project timelines.

  • Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to effectively articulate and communicate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes.

  • Effective stakeholder management skills and ability to partner with and influence senior management to drive data culture in the organization
