Structural Design Review Engineer

1.3. Reporting to

Operations Manager

  1. MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

2.1. Specialty

Structural Engineer

2.2. Education Degree

Bachelors in civil engineering

2.4. Technical knowledge

Preparation of structural design calculations, models and drawings for new and existing structures

Performance of site inspections

QA/QC activities

Design and modelling software (ETABS, STAAD, Autocad, etc…)

2.5. Experience

5 years structural design office experience

Mainly in concrete structure. Steel structure and precast.

  1. RESPONSIBILITIES / AUTHORITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES

3.1. Primary Functions

▪Performance of structural calculation design review (calculation reports and models)

▪Review the As built drawings, and Shop drawings.

▪Review Field change documents, Nonconformance reports

▪Review and report on status and effectiveness of the design centre’s quality management.

▪Review and report on status and effectiveness of the Systems safety and availability.

▪Performance of site inspections

▪Performance of QA/QC activities

▪Preparation of reports / project deliverables

▪Assistance in preparation of quotations / proposals / tenders related to civil engineering activities

3.2. AUTHORITIES

As per Bureau Veritas polices

3.3. Technical Expertise

Structural design knowledge

Mainly in concrete structure. Steel structure, and precast.

3.4. Business Requirements

To be engaged ASAP

3.5. QHSSE Responsibilities

▪Implementing BV safety programs within the team

▪Comply at all times with all applicable legal requirements, BV HSE

▪Policies, procedures and practices.

▪Maintain personal work areas tidy and hazard free and report any deviation/fault/hazard immediately to the location manager/line manager/HSE Representative

▪Report immediately to HSE Representative any newly identified hazard and participate in devising suitable operational control to eliminate/minimize the pertinent risk.

▪Report immediately to HSE Representative any HSE incident and cooperate in investigating Reporting all incidents and taking action whenever they see an unsafe act or condition

▪Take care of your own health and safety and that of people who may be affected by what you do (or do not do).

▪Co-operate with others on health and safety, and not interfere with, or misuse, anything provided for your health, safety or welfare.
