Vectrus Sweeper / Heavy Equipment Operator in Qatar

The Sweeper Operator is responsible for the operation and maintenance of heavy equipment used for airfield and street sweeping to support base operations in accordance with the performance work statement.

Must have Secret clearance to be considered for this position

Responsibilities

Major Responsibilities:

  • Shall operate and maintain airfield and street sweepers in accordance with the performance work statement and installation requirements. 100%

  • Shall respond to all sweeper requests within the timelines outlined in the performance work statement.

  • Shall sweep with hand tools such as rakes or brooms to reach debris in corners or surface areas not easily accessible by sweeper vehicle.

  • Shall document and report all weekly sweeping accomplished in accordance with the performance work statement.

  • Shall perform basic maintenance and cleaning of sweeper(s), and comply with, all required technical orders (T.O.) for the care, daily maintenance, and operation of sweepers.

  • Shall conduct pre-operational and post-operational inspections on every sweeper operated on shift using AF Form 1800.

  • Cleans sweeper after shift to include inside of hopper, the pickup head, vehicle cab and the outside of the vehicle.

  • Shall be able to effectively communicate and use technical manuals and references.

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter and trash in all working facilities and areas.

  • Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment and tools).

  • Responsible for precise execution of company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheet.

    Other requirements:

  • Work will be primarily indoors but may be outdoors to support various events.

  • Exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals may occur.

  • Overtime and shift work may be required depending on contractual needs.

  • Employee must comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations and published Company work rules as well as written instructions.

  • Task specific work environment training will be provided as required.

  • Must be prepared to function in a wartime environment to support U. S. interests.

  • 100% Overseas Assignment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • Must have a current, valid U. S. Passport and Driver’s License (able to drive a manual transmission).

  • Applicable heavy equipment operator card or training certification(s) dated within the past 12 months.

  • Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing and background checks.

  • Must successfully complete hands-on CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) defense training.

  • Training includes the successful fit testing of DOD provided protective gear.

    Experience:

  • Heavy Equipment Operator with a minimum of two years of airfield driving and operator experience or similar equivalent construction operator experience.
