We are a group of engineers who develop systems that support and secure Akamai Connected Cloud. Our systems provide data security, server integrity, secret management, network access, and secure communications infrastructure. Partner with the best

As a Software Engineer II in the Security Engineering organization, you'll be enhancing a portfolio of components related to security, communication and network access. You will partner with architects, quality engineering, and reliability teams throughout the software lifecycle to provide the best possible services for our internal consumers.

As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

• Developing and integrating backend systems and frontend applications

• Enhancing existing software and keeping it compliant as well as designing, implementing and testing new features

• Improving safety and stability of services; spotting and eliminating problems and risks; writing maintainable and secure code

• Building software that is testable and partnering with Quality Engineering teams to ensure that they are able to verify changes to the software you write

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have solid experience with Python and at least one of its web frameworks (Flask or Django)

• Have experience developing software for the Linux operating system

• Have intermediate knowledge of web technologies and distributed systems

• Demonstrate familiarity with Internet protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, TLS/SSL

• Demonstrate the ability to think thoroughly with attention to detail as required in developing security-related applications

• Demonstrate good written and verbal skills in English
