V2X Gunsmith I in Philippines
Overview
This position is physically located in the Philippines in support of LOGCAP
Responsible for repairing and customizing firearms, as well as performing routine maintenance and inspections. This job requires excellent knowledge of firearms and the ability to diagnose and solve any issues that may arise. The Gunsmith must also be knowledgeable in the use of various tools, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders, and must be able to use them safely and efficiently. The Gunsmith must also be able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics and have a good eye for detail. In addition, the Gunsmith must be able to keep accurate records of their work and be able to provide excellent customer service, helping customers find the best solutions for their firearms needs. Completion of a gunsmith apprenticeship or accredited certification program is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities

Strong knowledge of the workings of firearms, gun parts, and the tools used to build and repair firearms.
Have a basic understanding of the Host Nation laws and regulations governing firearms.
Design, construct & repair firearms and their components.
Test firearms for proper functioning and accuracy
Provide maintenance and repair services for firearms.
Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions.
Advise customers on appropriate firearms and accessories.
Keep accurate records of work performed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: Five years related experience may be substituted for one year of education.
Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain valid Secret Clearance
High school diploma or GED.
Completion of an accredited gunsmith training program.
A Federal Firearms License.
Proven experience working as a gunsmith.
Sound knowledge of gun control laws and gun safety.
The ability to safely use gunsmithing tools.
The ability to interpret blueprints for guns.
Strong mechanical, woodworking, and metalworking skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
Experience:
Knowledge of firearms and their components
Ability to diagnose and repair firearms.
Proficiency in using gunsmithing tools.
Ability to customize firearms.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
Ability to interpret gun blueprints.
Minimum of one-year related experience.
Working Conditions:
Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical environment with average temperatures of 130 degrees in the summer months).
Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard about ambient noise level.
The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
The worker is subject to vibration. Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
Physical Requirements:
Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
