V2X Ground Support Equipment Mechanic - Supervisor in Philippines
Overview
This position is physically located in the Philippines in support of LOGCAP
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Ground Support Equipment Mechanic Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day operational execution of Ground Support Equipment Mechanic Sections. Supervises and provides leadership to assigned personnel, and has responsibility for problem resolution, planning, execution, and leadership of AOR. Performs maintenance inspections, services, repairs, and overhauls of generator sets, power units, power plants, load switchboards, load distribution terminal boards, decontamination equipment, steam cleaners, small engine driven equipment, and other Special Purpose Equipment. Ensures work is complete and conforms to standards and requirements IAW Technical Manuals, Army Regulations, established processes and local SOPs. Checks work of subordinate mechanics and creates schedules for shop employees. Ensure to order parts and supplies needed for equipment repair and maintenance. Ensuring the adherence to safety procedures when working with potentially dangerous equipment or hazardous materials.

While in charge of the section, performs maintenance inspections, services, repairs, and overhauls of generator sets, power units, power plants, load switchboards, load distribution terminal boards, decontamination equipment, steam cleaners, small engine driven equipment, and other Special Purpose Equipment. The Ground Support Equipment Mechanic Lead directs, manages, and supervises the daily operations of Ground Support Section.
Confers with customer, supervisors, contractors and other personnel to exchange information and resolve problems.
Performs preventative and routine maintenance servicing, keeping tools and support equipment in safe and operational working conditions.
Oversee day-to-day operations of assigned personnel and keep work areas clean and free of hazards.
Ordering parts and supplies needed for equipment repair and maintenance
Ensuring the adherence to safety procedures when working with potentially dangerous equipment or hazardous materials.
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
High school diploma or equivalent. Must provide a copy of the diploma.
Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
Must be a U.S. Citizen
A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and Host Nation driving license
Experience:
Formal training on electrical systems diagnostic and repair.
Some leadership experience on related job
Must have at least Five (5) years of experience working full-time on gasoline/diesel engines and specialty vehicles.
Must have at least Five (5) years of experience working on light/medium/heavy duty equipment and GSE vehicles.
Skills:
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Operate various diagnostic tools and equipment.
Ability to meet required deadlines and maintain necessary workflow.
Ensuring the adherence to safety procedures when working with potentially dangerous equipment or hazardous materials
Must be able to Operate vehicles with a manual transmission.
Repair fault determination through systematic troubleshooting of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Must be able to set the standard for professional excellence among the maintenance team.
Perform routine maintenance as well as minor/major repairs of ground equipment.
Perform troubleshooting of ground support equipment, maintaining equipment in a safe condition
Ability to encourage teamwork and manage priorities and deadlines.
Performing preventive maintenance on ground support equipment according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
Working Conditions:
The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.
The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
Physical Requirements:
Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
