The Team:

You will be joining a highly talented core team of API Gateway Platform Engineers at S&P Global Market Intelligence. The team has an outstanding opportunity to advocate for and participate in building services that are resilient, optimally monitored, alerted, and self-healed by applying software engineering practices to deliver world-class real-time content around the globe.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Work as part of the API Gateway group to provide software engineering functions to the MI CIQ Solutions Dashboard suite

  • Work closely with product owners and technology partners to understand existing systems and support them

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues within the defined SLA

  • Work with client application developers to build, deploy and run both monolithic and microservices based applications on AWS Cloud

  • Analyze workload requirements and work with IT stakeholders to define proper sizing for cloud workloads on AWS

What W e’re L ooking F or :

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of focused experience in the AWS Cloud.

  • Proficiency in AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, R53, ELB, ALB, and VPC.

  • Strong development skills, 3+ years in Java, Python, and/or Javascript.

  • Experience with orchestration engines like Kubernetes.

  • Experience building, deploying, and managing production workloads including applications on EC2 instances, APIs on Lambda Functions, and more.

  • Experience troubleshooting networking protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTPS/TLS/Websockets, Multicast and Broadcast messaging.

  • Experience with scalable networking technologies, including Linux, software-defined networking, network virtualization, open protocols, App acceleration, Load Balancers, DNS, virtual private networks, and their application in PaaS and IaaS technologies.

  • Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems internals (e.g., filesystems, system calls), and with networking (e.g., routing, ESDN) or cloud systems.

  • Experience in Performance tuning OS (Linux & Wintel), JVM, .NetCore VM.

  • Experience in designing service APIs using API Gateways, creating, developing, and integrating infrastructure, OpenShift, Service Mesh, etc.

  • Experience with DevOps engineering or SRE.

  • Experience with monitoring and observability such as with Datadog and Splunk.

  • Experience using source control (Git, GitHub) and feature branching strategies.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Solution Architect Associate

  • Great attitude for learning, respect for fellow employees, & hunger for innovation.

  • Good communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.

  • Possession of a software-centric mindset capable of understanding the full software stack.

  • Willingness to embrace automation over manual effort.

  • Experience working on enterprise-scale internal or customer-centric projects, architecting technical solutions, and working closely with development & engineering teams.
