Ford Motor Company Brake Controls Quality Engineer in Mexico

Candidate should lead workstreams to address brake controls quality issues that may include assembly plant constraints, supplier issues or design opportunities.

Should work side to side with design and release engineers from multiple commodities including software to find root cause for each quality issue.

Must understand and track quality metrics t develops a plan to meet targets.

  • Track and keep up to date quality data.

  • Team leader to address quality issues.

  • Understand how quality data is reported (warranty internal metrics) and manage different quality systems to address issues on time.

  • Work on preventive actions to avoid quality issues in the future.

  • Identify main quality offenders and develop a strong plan to address them.

  • Lead quality issues investigation with application engineers, manufacturing engineers and Suppliers

  • Understand brake controls specs and modules interaction - communication.

  • Work side to side with Ford service team to implement updates to service manuals and documents to improve customers satisfaction.

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechatronics, automotive, mechanical, software or electronic engineering or similar.

  • Brake engineering experience desired.

  • Advanced English language.

  • Quality background including experience using problem solving methods like 8Ds, Six Sigma, 5Why.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to lead group projects, issue resolution, and management reviews.

  • Strong leadership skills – inherent self-starter, self-motivated, with strong drive for results.

  • Sense of urgency.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Software and communication network knowledge desired.

  • Project management skills - capable of managing projects by looking both at the big picture objectives and at detail administration to achieve these objectives.

  • Ability to travel and support Ford Motor Company final assembly plants and supplier sites as required.

  • Able to work in unfamiliar and unstructured situations and succeed.
