The Role: Senior Cloud DevOps - AWS

The Team:

S&P Dow Jones Indices is seeking an Senior- Cloud DevOps - AWS to play a key role in the Infrastructure Engineering team, managing Cloud DevOps for running index applications. This position requires a seasoned engineer who can work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

The Impact:

This role is crucial to the business as it directly contributes to the development and maintenance of cloud-based DevOps solutions on the AWS platform. By building DevOps solutions and optimizing cloud infrastructure, this role enables the organization to scale, improve reliability, and enhance security. The solutions developed by this role affect the efficiency and effectiveness of our applications/platforms, allowing us to deliver better products and services to our clients

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement DevOps pipelines for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

  • Develop workflows for creating consistent and scalable infrastructure in cloud environments.

  • Automate provisioning of compute instances and storage resources.

  • Create standardized machine images leveraging modern provisioning techniques.

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and playbooks for configuration management and routine tasks.

  • Utilize cloud-native templates for provisioning infrastructure resources.

  • Implement Infrastructure as Code practices to manage and deploy cloud resources.

  • Manage containerized applications using orchestration tools.

  • Configure and manage security policies and access controls in cloud environments.

  • Monitor system performance and generate utilization reports.

  • Research and evaluate new cloud services and solutions.

  • Integrate build and deployment processes with CI/CD pipelines.

  • Resolve and troubleshoot production issues.

  • Collaborate effectively with global stakeholders and IT teams.

What we are looking for:

  • Relevant qualification or equivalent work experience preferred.

  • Certifications in RedHat Linux and AWS desirable.

  • Extensive background in Infrastructure Engineering and automation.

  • Strong proficiency in AWS cloud administration and management.

  • Experience developing automation scripts and integrating CI/CD pipelines.

  • Proficient with a variety of DevOps tools and technologies.

  • Skilled in scripting for RedHat Linux environments.

  • Excellent communication skills across written, verbal, and presentation domains.
