The Fuels Systems Technician is responsible for performance of maintenance, repair and inspection services to maintain diesel fuel distribution systems and equipment IAW all applicable federal, local, and international laws, regulations, Air Force Instruction, Technical Orders and policy directives. Works with a Fuel OM&R Manager to provide safe, efficient, accurate and environmentally responsible services and products.
Responsibilities
Major responsibilities:
Responsible for efficient, safe performance of diesel ground fuels operations; diesel and aviation fuel receipt operations, to include quality control of diesel; maintain proper accountability of diesel and aviation fuel stock levels; account for and ensure proper operation and serviceability of all GFP, tanks, bladders, hoses, and fuel servicing equipment to support minimum-notice exercises and contingency operations to be supported by USG personnel as detailed in the performance work statement.
Shall perform all fuel operations IAW AFI 23-201 Fuels Management, Commercial Fuel Servicing Trucks Checklist, T.O. 37-1-1 Fuel Storage and Dispensing System Inspection, and T.O.37A-1-101 Fuel Dispensing Equipment. Contractor shall utilize all applicable technical manuals, T.O., manufacturer’s specifications, locally developed checklists and best commercial practices when conducting all fuels operations tasks and inspections with no more than two (2) discrepancies noted during any records inspections.
Shall operate fuels equipment and conduct fuel operations safely and efficiently to ensure fuel quality and inventory accuracy. Shall receive, issue and transfer fuel while maintaining integrity and quantity of product and send documentation to the COR.
Shall provide diesel refueling for generators, light carts, heavy equipment and vehicles.
Shall perform visual inspections of diesel receipts to ensure quality of product and mark all fuel lines and associated equipment.
Shall accomplish inspections of vehicles and equipment, provide operator level maintenance for Fuels Management GFP, receive fuel and ensure all reports and records needed for such tasks are accurate and accomplished in accordance with the PWS.
Ensure interior and exterior of surrounding fenced area facilities are clean, free from debris, pests and fire hazards.
Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all property provided for contractor use (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment and tools).
Shall comply with all safety rules, regulations, and laws IAW current OSHSA, government, installation and local agency standards.
Performs internal quality control checks and self-performance audits.
Responsible for precise execution of company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheet.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Other requirements:
Work will be primarily indoors but may be outdoors to support various events.
Exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals may occur.
Overtime and shift work may be required depending on contractual needs.
Employee must comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations and published Company work rules as well as written instructions.
Task specific work environment training will be provided as required.
Must be prepared to function in a wartime environment to support U. S. interests.
100% Overseas Assignment.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirments:
Education/Certifications : One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
High school diploma or equivalent, related Vocational or Associate’s degree preferred.
Must have completed a basic liquid fuel systems maintenance course equivalent to the requirements for award of AFSC 3E431.
Mush have current HAZWOPER certification.
Must have a current, valid U. S. Passport and U. S. Driver’s License.
Must be able to pass the controlled movement area flight line driving test upon site arrival.
Must have and maintain a valid U. S. SECRET Security Clearance prior to deployment.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
Must have color vision.
Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, background checks, etc.
Candidates must successfully complete both online and hands on CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) defense training. Training includes the successful fit testing of DoD provided protective gear.
Experience:
A minimum of three years of experience in fuels management functions, preferably with an AF specialty code (AFSC) 2F0x1 or similar background.
Shall have experience in pulling samples from receipt, collecting tank sticks for inventory, and familiar with DLA-E policies for accounting processes of capitalized product.
Shall have hands-on experience conducting sampling of fuels and equipment and performing various test sets and samples with fuels laboratory equipment.
Must have experience in functions such as installation, maintenance, and repair of liquid fuel systems and components.
Shall have knowledge of principles of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical theory and principles that apply to liquid fuel systems, physiological effects, characteristics, and hazards of liquid fuel products, and use and interpretation of wiring and schematic diagrams, blueprints, and environmental regulations for fuels and hazardous materials.
Skills:
Must be proficient with Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, and Power Point.
Able and willing to work periods of long hours to meet mission requirements
Military experience in a contingency environment and knowledge and experience working with government contracts preferred.
