Field Service Representative

Bell is seeking a Field Service Representative to support the Japan Ground Self Defense Force (JGSDF) V-22 aircraft located in Saga prefecture, Japan. Applicant will maintain competency to provide support in the operation and maintenance of all systems of the military product, to include flight line, airframe, drive systems, engine controls, hydraulics, flight controls, and fuel systems. This position requires experience and technical expertise on military aircraft products operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Must be able to work with sometimes ambiguous customer requests and ask clarifying questions to provide high quality advice on the maintenance of the V-22.

What you’ll be doing as a Field Service Representative

  • Provide support in the operation and maintenance of all systems of the JGSDF V-22 Osprey, to include avionics, electrical, airframe, drive systems, engine controls, hydraulics, flight controls, and fuel systems.

  • Provide on-site company representation and technical support to the JGSDF customers and initiate corrective actions for maintenance and logistics issues.

  • Act as the customers liaison to FST to support maintenance, repair, modification and documentation for updates and changes.

  • Utilize technical expertise and product knowledge to assist the customer to achieve and sustain a high level of proficiency in the operation and maintenance of the MV-22 aircraft by providing on-the-job and classroom maintenance training and provide logistics and technical assistance to maintainers.

  • This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

  • This position will is located in a rural area of Japan and may require a 1.5-2-hour commute to accommodate for living and family requirements.

Skills You Bring To this Role

  • Demonstrate strong V22 technical and maintenance skills.

  • Demonstrate experience in troubleshooting and understanding Aircraft downloads.

  • Demonstrate experience managing aircraft maintenance and troubleshooting.

  • Ability to research, understand and use blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Ability to prioritize work,strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a team player mindset.

  • Excellent communicator; must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, and brief leaders/customers.

What you need to be successful

  • We are looking for inquisitive and driven V22 technically sound and experienced person with a passion to innovate.

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience working on V-22 aircraft platform.

  • Excellent knowledge of V-22 aircraft systems and naval aircraft maintenance procedures are required.

  • Extensive maintenance experience with military or commercial rotorcraft systems and/or FAA A&P certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or extensive maintenance experience with military or commercial rotorcraft systems preferred.

  • Personal computer proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications is required.

  • Excellent oral and writing skills are required.

  • Required to obtain and hold a Secret level security clearance.

  • Experience using Government VTAMP system in writing and responding to Technical Assistance Request (TAR), as well as government systems/databases are essential.

  • Ability to speak and understand basic spoken Japanese language is highly desired.
