The Oracle Health Applications and Infrastructure (OHAI) Abilities Center team enables non-functional “Abilities” testing. Our mission is to improve the delivery of health care by creating a culture where the Abilities are the focus throughout the Oracle Health solution lifecycle. We believe that the Abilities are foundational to achieving the healthcare transformation that is on the horizon and are looking for a Software Developer II to join our DevOps team to design, develop, troubleshoot and/or test/QA software for our Millennium testing platform.

With your strong technical skills, research and analytical capabilities, and demonstrated ability to get the correct things done quickly and effectively, you will work with a team of software engineers to design, develop, debug, and enhance tools and services used by the OHAI Abilities Center organization and Oracle Health product teams to complete non-functional/abilities testing. These tasks call for someone who can recommend data-driven changes, balance speed and quality with iterative and incremental improvements, and infuse a culture of being proactive within the team.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring system uptime, performing backups and restores, performing Millennium upgrades, OS upgrades/patches and troubleshooting issues as they arise.

  • Performance testing on all the Millennium code releases before the code is available to the client. Assessing the performance, availability, scalability, reliability, and affordability of Oracle Health product.

  • Performance testing includes upgrading the environment to the latest code, gathering the stale stats, capturing repeatable baselines for comparison, fixing the automated test suit issues, re-running the tests, investigating the issues, calling out the blockers and creating an executive report for client facing, product team and leadership.

  • Collaborates with development teams in identifying performance defects and fixes.

  • Analyzing the windows/Citrix, application and db. tier data. Compare the data with previous release to report the performance improvement and degradation by calling out the response time, CPU and memory utilization in 3 tier tech stacks.

  • Performance testing for ad hoc products which include tech migration and patch release like Oracle, MQ, WAS, etc.

  • Performance testing for platforms like Alva and Orion.

  • Support Millennium and environment related investigation in virtual machine which are deployed for performance testing.

  • Build customer-facing testing services that are scalable, reliable, and performant.

  • Suggests improvements/enhancements to existing metrics, dashboards and tools that improve service availability, compliance with org standards and/or reduce operational toil.

  • Lead by example, influence, and empowerment.

  • Ability to be flexible, multi-task and prioritization of tasks.

  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in computer science, or equivalent.

  • 1-3 years of developing and shipping enterprise distributed and/or cloud native systems.

  • Strong grasp of system design fundamentals and distributed systems architectural best practices

  • Strong desire to make an impact and thrive in collaborative and energetic environments.

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts verbally and through design aspects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient with Linux system performance data analysis.

  • Strong understanding of database performance data analysis.

  • Proficient with Windows and Citrix.

  • Intermediate with IBM WAS

  • Experience with OCI or other cloud platforms

  • Proficient with statistical analysis.

  • Intermediate skills in automated application testing tools and load simulation tools like Eggplant and Gatling.

  • Previous experience with OHAI Millennium EMR development or Alva service development.

  • Experience with DevOps tools – Jenkins, Git, Chef, Ansible, Elastic Search.

  • Intermediate with languages like Java, JavaScript and Python.

  • Experience troubleshooting issues impacting large scale service architecture and application stacks.

  • Highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail.
