LSGIU Clinical Trials Planning & Operations ClearTrial is the industry leader in cloud-based clinical trials budgeting and forecasting software for the global Life Sciences industry, offering the only complete end-to-end platform for defining and budgeting clinical trials, from TBD to TBD, with comprehensive metrics to track adherence to timelines and budget.

Our Opportunity

The Java Web Applications Engineer will be responsible for developing SaaS platform, web and backend service applications in Oracle's Life Sciences Global Industry Unit (LSGIU). This person will work independently to help build out our technology platform using technologies like Java, Spring, WebLogic and Tomcat, Coherence, Jasper Reports, JAX-RS, and REST.

You’ll work with a great engineering team that’s passionate about building the first study budgeting platform of its kind for our pharmaceutical clients. You must be willing to collaborate and help others on the team as necessary, and be a solid team player. This position is an individual contributor (no direct reports).

What you'll do...

• Advance the state of the art in building SaaS services with Java helping to power web applications written in Java and other popular web development frameworks

• Work with front end specialists to define REST interfaces, work with RDBMS to provide data.

• Full stack development of SaaS enterprise applications, which streamline workflow processes in an important industry.

• Work with other top-notch engineers, PMs and QA specialists.

• Operate as a member of the LSGUI ClearTrial agile development team. Skills you have…

• Experience with the Java platform – demonstrated knowledge of the latest Java platform features

• Demonstrable experience building Java REST services that power web applications

• Strong data modeling and SQL skills. Direct experience with Java ORM's a plus.

• Proven experience with unit testing and test frameworks.

• Git or similar distributed SCM tools.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrable expertise and recent experience with the following:

• Full stack web application development

• Enterprise SaaS architectures

• Service-oriented architectures

• Familiarity with cloud-based deployments

• Reporting and analytics

Responsibilities

As a member of the software engineering division, you will apply basic to intermediate knowledge of software architecture to perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.
