We are looking for an entry level Product Owner to join UKG Ready’s Product Team, supporting our User Interface (UI) Framework initiatives. The Product Owner will have the opportunity to learn world class product management principles while focusing on more technical aspects of supporting the software development. UKG Ready is a growing organization in a very collaborative, interactive, and insight driven environment.

Have you ever thought about how software development is done? In your role as the Product Owner of the UI Framework, you’ll be involved in all the different aspects in developing world class experiences for the UKG Ready suite of product. Many initiatives involve components of the software that actually help support different engineering teams, a critical function for speed and consistency across the application. When you’re involved in the UI framework, it’s not just about the visuals, but you’ll play an active role in helping the engineers solve complex issues such as performance, or even how we might introduce, evolve or deprecate experiences.

Along with desktop, mobile is another important experience. “Mobile is the future of work” and at UKG Ready, a critical aspect to our overall business strategy. As the Product Owner of the UI Framework, you have the unique opportunity to support and execute on our mobile roadmap, identify opportunities to help incorporate native device capabilities into our experience.

As the Product Owner, you’ll learn to be the subject matter expert for the product area and act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding, both internally and at times externally. You will be working very fast paced agile development process with a well-established engineering team that truly wants you to be successful! This position reports to the Manager of Suite Experience, but you’ll be encouraged to grow into a role that can provide thought leadership and operate independently with confidence.

Activities

• Story definition, backlog prioritization based on communicated release goals.

• Coordinate the collection, description, analysis, and prioritization of requests for new product functionality, providing recommended actions.

• Collaborate with other product owners / product managers to ensure consistency and compatibility across the suite of products.

• Integrating findings from usability studies, user research and market analysis into actionable user stories,

• Clearly communicate product benefits to our internal and external stakeholders.

• Work closely with cross-functional business stakeholders and implementation managers across the company to ensure that our solutions address the individual business needs of each group.

• Help to drive the agile product development process with your team.

• Analyzing metrics that inform the success of products and making changes where necessary to improve product outcomes

• A love for software, an eye for good (and bad) experiences with the curiosity in how they might be built.

• A solid technical aptitude is important. You might not know exactly how it works, but you should feel comfortable having conversations about APIs, SSO, client-side vs backend development. This could come from a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or simply from work experience.

• With many different components comprising the UI Framework, ability to multi-task as a high level is critically important. Topics change quickly, but this keeps your job interesting.

• Well organized, strong problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on how data can drive decisions and improve our products.

• We go fast, so the ability to work in an agile environment with rapid product innovation and iteration is important.

• Proven ability to successfully collaborate with internal stakeholders from various parts of the organization and drive successful outcomes cross-functionally.

• Demonstrated skills in project execution, detail oriented, with ability to consistently produce quality results. Get it done, get it done right!

• Our team is globally distributed requiring flexibility in meetings time, primarily late afternoons and evenings for those based in India.
