MUFG Assistant Vice President, FC Investigations (12 months contract) in Hong Kong

Job Responsibilities:
Investigating, researching and analysing the Branch’s customer activity (e.g. Transaction Monitoring system alerts / manual escalations) for potential financial crime-related suspicious activity and make recommendations for Suspicious Transaction Reporting (STR) to the JFIU.
Preparing STRs and other required reports in compliance with established local regulatory guidelines and time frames.
Preparing and thoroughly documenting results of investigations in a timely manner for reportable and non-reportable cases.
Communicating with Branch and Department Heads and other staff as necessary, in researching and investigating cases.
Maintaining necessary records and files to ensure efficient and consistent reporting of investigations.
Provision of timely and accurate information for the Team Lead/Management to assist in decision making processes, including escalating any investigative issues or program gaps.
Providing insights and recommendations on improving investigations quality or how to reach optimal efficiency in current processes.
Preparing regular management reporting as well as other ad hoc duties as assigned or requested.
Job Requirements:
Broad understanding of banking, financial crimes risk in banking and a general understanding of the working practices of an AML Transaction Monitoring and Investigations function;
Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g. HKMA/JFIU) around transaction monitoring and suspicious transaction reporting;
Details oriented with proven abilities in conducting research/pattern recognition, comprehensive reporting and documentation.
Experience in conducting investigations concerning fraud and other financial crimes
Experience working in a team environment with a track record of building relationships and working collaboratively
Strong communication skills and experience interacting with senior stakeholders
5 or more years relevant experience in a financial services firm, regulatory agency or consultancy;
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent;
CAMS or other recognised industry accreditation such as AAMLP/CAMLP, etc. is an advantage
The ability to operate with urgency and prioritise work accordingly;
A structured and logical approach to work; and
MS Office skills.
