Senior Solution Architect
This role will provide the candidate an opportunity to work as part of a global Solutions Architecture group spanning multiple Agile Product Delivery teams. Specifically, this role is focussed on Aons specialty platforms and integrations with Lloyds. The role will also be responsible for defining the appropriate architecture and overseeing the delivery from a technical architectural perspective.

What the day will look like
Early assessment of new requirements, defining the impact across products within our ecosystem, documenting solution designs, estimating and planning the future state of our system landscape.
Contributing to Agile Planning meetings to groom requirements and defining features down to user story level to successfully modernize, enhance and scale the solutions in place.
Attending Agile Scrums meetings to groom requirements, help unblock engineering roles as they deliver on features within their respective product team sprints.
Quality oversight of delivery by developers in line with engineering standards, ensuring teams are equipped with the tools, access and training to perform successfully within their product team.
Building up the architecture practice engineering know-how within an Aon context – adopting and extending SDLC and DevSecOps standards across Aon.
Engaging Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Engineering and Project Managers to ensure successful and smooth delivery day-to-day.
Serving as a point of technical escalation for Agile teams, addressing technical issues as they arise.
Taking personal responsibility for architecture quality across Agile product teams, demonstrated by robust solutions.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
10 years + experience in similar solutions architecture role, with specific focus on building secure enterprise-grade workflow solutions.
Experience in commercial insurance brokerage including familiarity with London market platforms.
Strong experience in API architecture and design incl. REST swagger definitions for endpoint/payload design, API security, monitoring and management etc.
Experience architecting domain APIs to run on Azure cloud incl. Azure APIm, Azure Functions, container-based applications.
Some experience in data mapping and analysis, interface specifications and data job design.
Experience with relational databases, warehousing and lake-house technology - SQL Server, Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Blob Storage / AWS S3.
Strong Agile knowledge – Scrum, Kanban, TDD and other practices. Certification desirable.
College degree in IT-related discipline.
