Aggreko PMO Project Controller in United Kingdom

We’re looking for a PMO Project Controller to join our Aggreko Energy Services (AES) team. This role can be based anywhere in the UK but you will be expected to attend meetings with the team in various locations across the UK. At Aggreko Energy Services we are accelerating the energy transition by developing, owning and operating energy infrastructure that delivers clean, reliable, economic energy for our customers. Reporting to the Snr. Development Manager you will deliver effective project management practices are implemented and maintained within the AES team. You will oversee project budgets, schedules, and resources, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. You will stay informed about industry trends, regulations and best practices related to the oversight of financial, data and administrative aspects of energy projects. You will also be responsible for managing project risks and issues, identifying opportunities for improvement, and providing regular project status updates to AES senior management.

    What you’ll do:

  • Setting up systems to monitor project scope, schedule and budget and provide timely analysis (including portfolio summaries and progress reports) to support project execution and decision making.

  • Maintaining accurate project documentation, records and financial controls in accordance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

  • Implementing processes for management of change, including evaluating proposed changes to project scope, schedule or budget, assessing the financial impact of change and coordinating approval processes with project stakeholders.

  • Reviewing project contracts, agreements, and purchase orders to ensure compliance with financial terms and conditions. Monitoring contractor invoices, payments, and change orders, verifying accuracy and completeness.

  • Formulating and ensuring adherence to project policies and processes and defining key performance indicators (KPIs) related to project performance.

  • Working with colleagues to identify cost-saving opportunities, analysing variances, and implementing corrective actions to ensure efficient resource utilisation and cost control.

What we’re looking for:

  • You will be data-driven with a keen attention to detail

  • You will be an experienced PMO Controller with experience of managing a portfolio of projects using digital systems to capture and report on budgets, schedules, and quality.

  • You will have a strong knowledge of available portfolio management systems and a track record of introducing new systems and practices.

  • You will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of project risks, risk management and reporting.
