What You'll Do

In this role, you'll use your knowledge of regional trends, actively respond to financial performance, provide strategic direction for the sales teams, and ensure achievement of Kimpton Los Monteros short and long term goals. Direct and lead your team to achieve budgeted top-line revenues. Accountable for Sales budget to assure appropriate spend. Act as the hotel ambassador by establishing relationships with the community to increase the hotel's exposure. Work tactically with the Director of Revenue Management and Director of Marketing to ensure a strategically symbolic relationship between all disciplines.

  • Primary point of contact on all sales and marketing issues for the General Manager, Owner, Group Sales Team and Area Commercial Leader

  • Developing sales goals and strategies in alignment with the overall business strategy and being responsible for all proactive and reactive (event sales) sales activities as well as for the reservation department

  • Analyzing market and economic trends as well as competitors to continuously strengthen the own position in the market

  • Point of contact for customers, participating in sales calls to acquire new business and/or close deals, and building long-term, value-based customer relationships

  • Developing strong partnerships and collaborations with local and international organizations to further increase brand/product awareness, participating in customer events, and trade shows

  • Budget planning and controlling

  • Goal setting and performance evaluation of direct team members, as well as coaching and development meetings

Some Of Your Responsibilities Include

  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to the sales team, continually assessing their strengths and challenges and ensure they are equipped to achieve their targets.

  • Knowledgeable of competitive set and recommends sales/pricing strategies, service, and product improvements to stay competitive.

  • Responsible for achieving the Hotel revenue budget for hotel.

  • Responsible for appropriate identification of key markets and supporting deployment and travel schedule strategies.

  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets, and forecasting.

  • Responsible for management of departmental budgets including forecasting monthly expenses and explanation of variances on P&L.

  • Creating and implementing sales plans that drive measurable incremental occupancy, increase average rates, increase volume, food and beverage and banquet sales 

  • Producing and reviewing monthly reports to monitor performance

  • Conducting market research to understand customer preferences, industry trends, and competitor strategies. Using this information to inform commercial decisions and stay ahead of the competition.

What You Bring

Bachelor's degree in Hotel Administration or Hotel Management

  • Minimum of 5 years of sales Experience in senior positions

  • An open and proactive mind-set, flexibility and courage to embrace change and to always challenge the status quo in order to optimize processes.

  • Solution- and result-oriented approach

  • Strong communication skills Spanish and English.

  • Leadership skills to encourage, lead and develop a team by example.

  • Customer-oriented approach, always focusing on the needs of the guest and the customer

  • Knowledge of overall hotel revenue management concepts, processes and strategies

  • Financial resource management, ability to analyze profit and loss (P&L) statements, develop operating budgets and revenue targets, forecast and plan capital expenditures

  • Ability to adapt rapidly to evolving market dynamics and needs.

  • Ability to convert vision into specific and tangible actions.

  • Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of integrity.
